Maya's Surgery

Hello to all our fury friends. It's me, Missy. I'm reporting today because Maya's at the vet. They brought her last night. I jumped in her window as was very upset that they left without me.
Mom cooked her food, with special instructions, made her cookies and had it all ready.
It was time for her surgery to have her "fixed." She has no clue what that means. I tried explaining it, but she just looked at me like I was talking another language. Mom and Dad brought her last night, and her surgery is scheduled for today to be spayed and to have a dew claw removed. They are supposed to go get her Sunday morning.
Me and mom are cleaning house today. Vacuuming, mopping, and washing all the doggie linnens so that when she comes home our area is nice and clean. I must say, the house is way to quite and Mom seems so lost without her little shadow following her everywhere.
The vet is supposed to call this afternoon with an update. I wonder how Mom is gonna keep her from jumping and running when she gets back? Should be very interesting.

Update from Mom: MayaMarie's (really wonderful) vet called. She was resting and her surgery went well. Her dew claws needed to be removed as they were going to cause problems as she got older, so he took care of both of them. I'll keep all advised. The house is way to quite without her.

Hi-Woo Missy,
Tell Maya Marie when she comes home that we send her "speedy recovery" get well woos & wishes. I haven't splained to Juneau what is in store for him next week. He'll soon find out. Mommy & daddy will drop him off on Thurs. night at our vet's to get "fixed" & pick him up the next day on Friday. They are going to ask the vet for some "happy pills" to help keep him calm (yeah, right that'll work, NOT!). He is probably going to visit his crate alot or be put on the leash in the house so he can't get himself in trouble (or me!). I'll stop back soon to see how she is doing.

Restricting activity after surgery is always the hardest part. Tell Maya to use guilt to get wonderful treats for all of you.

Woooos, glad to hear that MayaMarie is fine. She'll need some extra-gentle tummy rubs, and lots and lots of treats to heal properly.

Woooos,

Good thoughts and prayers go out to MayaMarie! We're all fixed here, too - though we weren't aware that we were broken. ;)
Take good care of her in her recovery, Missy! No zoomies or wrestling for a while, OK?

I got "fixed" too and I remember all the spoiling that went on because Mom thought I was in pain. Silly woman! I don't understand about that fixing business either. I wasn't broke!

Howroo Missy,
We bet it IS quiet around there with Maya gone. Even with 4 of us, if one has to go to the doc the other 3 FREAK out until the missing packmember returns. Keeping our paws crossed for Maya's speedy recovery so you'll get your playmate back!
Manykisses,

Missy,
We are glad to hear that MayaMarie did okay in surgery. Good luck keeping her still all week! Is that even possible for a husky?

Hi Missy,

Glad to hear Maya's surgery is over but you have to help her stay calm and quite. Give her a little snuggle from the Mommy and some woofs from us.

Have a nice weekend....Just Us

Kisses to MayaMarie. I didn't realise her surgery was so soon either. I have not been keeping up with my pals.

Take care of her and look after each other.

Missy,
Tell MayaMarie to be a good girl in recovering, (we are sure she will be). It's not fun, but it won't be too long before she is back to her beautfiul bouncy cute self.

MayaMarie we are glad that your surgery seemed to go well. We hope you have a very speedy and healthy recovery. Make sure you milk the most out of this....you deserve it! I think females being spade is worse than males being neutered. Don't worry....I didn't know what all the fuss was when I went either (back in the day). Sometimes it is good to be a bit naive.

Get well soon!
